In fact you guys covered a traveling exhibition my client did last year featuring new never before seen images of Marilyn Monroe hosted by http://www.LimitedRuns.com. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2701161/Marilyn-Monroes-lost-model-shots-revealed.html On July 29, LimitedRuns will kick off its next traveling tour and sale featuring an incredible piece of Hollywood history - the 21 color Separations and original / only fine art nude photograph of Marilyn that catapulted her to stardom. The Separations and photo will travel to cities across America and will be auctioned off as a Collection in September. They will also be displayed and sold alongside a new series of never before/rarely seen images of Marilyn. The photo and Separations are expected to fetch several million dollars. In a nutshell, a broke Marilyn calling herself "Mona Monroe" earned $50 to pose for a series of nude shots. Three images were later sold to a printing company who created the photos and separations for printing in millions of "Golden Dreams" Calendars. The printers actually had to create several versions because it was illegal at the time to send a nude photo in the mail. (Interesting sidenote: the printer actually became best known for creating religious memorabilia.) As Marilyn's star rose, the media got wind that the nude beauty was the calendar girl, and a scandal ensued. No Hollywood starlet had ever posed nude. Despite 20th Century's request to deny the photos, a PR savvy Marilyn owned up to the photos and was embraced even more. Hugh Hefner later licensed the image for the first issue of Playboy, and the photo became iconic.
